geoFluxus aims to get rid of the concept of waste whatsoever. We have noticed that there is an enormous information asymmetry between waste producers and (circular) waste processors. Waste producers are left in the darkness when it comes to the possibilities and impacts of their waste treatment. Our mission is to resolve this assymmetry and ensure that when it comes to waste, environmental and financial benefits go hand-in-hand.
At the same time we work closely with governments and use data sets that are not available to the public. Our vision is to bridge the gap between administrative burdens and societal and business benefits by giving the data back to its producers.
We undertake this mission by serving two web-applications, one of them for companies, the other one for governments. Our platform provides companies with all existing alternatives for their waste and suggests most environmentally and financially friendly solutions. Our Circular Economy Monitor provides an overview of all waste, its production and treatment patterns and insights into the potential for a circular economy for the local governments at different administrative levels.
geoFluxus is a sustainability-driven tech company based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As a spin-off from the Delft University of Technology, we demand change by orchestrating cutting edge academic research with savvy business models and a deep-rooted desire for positive impact. As a Techstars Smart City 2020 alumni start-up we always “give first” and operate in the space where environmental activism and business enterprise converge.
We are committed to create the highest positive social and environmental impact remaining a business entity that operates and competes on capitalist markets chasing innovation, profitability and expansion. This way we ensure that all knowledge produced during the years of research does not end up in academic archives but enhances products which solve real world problems.
Our in-house product and software development team ensures that our application use the cutting edge technologies, meet highest standards of data and information safety and security and are delivered to our clients in a user-friendly manner. We frequently engage in research and development activities making sure that our products are not limited by the out-of-the-box solutions and can be continuously improved.
In its - still short – existence, geoFluxus has attracted acclaim for the green innovativeness by winning EU Datathon Green Deal Challenge (2020), EIC accelerator excellence award (2020), being selected for the Dutch trade-mission to New York (2019), being runner-up at EIT Climate-KIC National Finals (2019) and selected as Top100 most promising Software-as-a-Service companies in the Netherlands (2022). Furthermore, regional circular economy analysis produced by the geoFluxus platforms is currently being used in preparation of the upcoming Integral Circular Economy Report (NL: Integrale Circulaire Economie Rapportage) to be published in 2023.
